Shucking Corn

It's been about a week and a half since we moved into our new place. I'm happy to say that we've made it through most of the boxes and our house has a fairly solid sense of order. The kids have acclimated to their new rooms amazingly well and there's a steady stream of kids knocking on the door for Colin. It's great to have a neighborhood pool and Miss Lily has become quite the little fish.

Here's a few pics of Lily shucking corn last night!

And it begins....

This was the condition of our house yesterday when I said *good-bye.* Lots of memories in this house. It's where we lived when Maverick surprised us and entered our lives. It's the place we lived during the entire paperchase and referral for MeiLin. And it's the place where I spent 18 months with the kids while John was overseas. We have an amazing group of neighbors and friends, and the years we spent here will always have a very special place in my heart.

The movers are currently at our house loading the boxes onto the truck. I'm sitting here in a hotel room with the four munchkins--we just returned from the breakfast buffet. In a few minutes I'm going to start packing up our things and loading everything (and everyone) into the car. Then it's a short ride north. Thankfully my AMAZING parents are going to meet us on the other end and help me take delivery of all those boxes tomorrow in our new home.
Stay tuned....the journey continues!

Potty Training?

I heard a lot of giggling coming from the bathroom yesterday. Since *The Jokers* have been flushing things (toys, crayons, paper, etc.) down the toliet recently, I quickly ran see what trouble they were up to. I opened the door and this is what I saw!

Dancin' in the Rain!

Let me just say that Lily had a pretty rough start to the day. We arrived at the dentist's office at 8am. After taking nearly 20 minutes to swallow a teaspoon of sedation medicine, she proceeded to have one tooth extracted, a cavity filled, teeth cleaned, flouride treatment, sealant on a molar, and a mold made of her mouth. She had every reason to be tired, cranky, and deserving of yet ANOTHER Webkinz!

By later this afternoon, she was feeling much more like herself and decided to put on her rainboots and take advantage of the quick (and HEAVY) rain storm!
She was soaked!
